The
Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance, Charitable Trust
After
some serious debate Notts DA have decided to sponsor the Nottinghamshire
and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust from the sponsorship
monies already collected over the last year and from our forthcoming
Edges and Dales walk in 2008.
We
undertake this real challenge of a walk biannually. We have been doing
this for so long now that the walk route has become nationally
recognized and is undertaken by other walking groups.
Why not consider getting yourself sponsored in 2008 (Forms available
online from end of January 2008) then get in some walking practice, come
along and join us for the event. You will be able to read more about
what is happening by checking out the Notts DA website at the end of
January and ongoing up to the event.
The
Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance is a dedicated medical
air service which first began operations in Lincolnshire in April 1994.
It is based at RAF Waddington, south of Lincoln,
and because of the nature of their mobility they are unaffected by all
road congestion, country roads, heavy vehicles or road works. The
Helicopter can reach any destination in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire
in around 19 very precious minutes.
In England and Wales there are sixteen dedicated
Air Ambulance operations flying a total of 22 helicopters and all are
reliant upon charitable support. An Air Ambulance provides an important
and sometimes vital additional patient care service for our most
critically ill and injured patients.
So, from
your endeavors and sponsorship monies, you will be helping us to
maintain the existence of our valuable service and who knows which lives
you may help save.
