We had a fantastic time at this very well organised NFOL 2010 and met many friendly people all over Scotland
Central Counties Region members would like to say a massive thank you to all the organising team of NFOL 2010 and would like to see you at NFOL 2011 in Newark Nottinghamsire next year

The Regions Officers meeting took place at Thoreseby Park North Nottinghamshire, this meeting is where all DA and Section officers meet to discuss new idea’s and exchange views on how they think their voluntary jobs can be successfully done. The people who attended were voluntary PRO’s,Site Officers,Web Managers,Secretaries,Chairpersons,Youth Leaders and many more.
We were very fortunte to have in attendance The Club’s Chairman Mr Keith Jackson,Hon Treasurer Mrs Sally Birch and Chairman of Communications Committee Mr Steve Birch.
Each one of our guests from the Club gave very interesting talks: Keith ~ realationship between the Club and Regions,Steve ~ Communications between the club and it’s members,Sally ~The Club as a bussiness or not whichever it may be
All the presentations made were excellent and very interesting but Sally’s talk really made our members think about out “Club” in different ways.
Central Counties Region would like to say thank you to our guests for their presentaions,Trent Valley DA for hosting the weekend and to the officers and members from all parts of the region for attending.
We hope to be organising another officers meeting next year in another County of the Region for both new and established committee members.
This year the CC Region meet was held at Thoresby Park north Nottinghamshire over the weekend of 10th ~ 13th June 2010
This proved to be an excellent meet with lots of family fun and plenty of action for all who wanted it, for those who did’nt then a bar b q and a laze in the sun was very welcome
Notts DA won the Volley~ ball competion and also the Sunday morning Ringrose Sports
Northants DA won the Saturday afternoon mardigra with some really great costumes and a portable tea party (no don’t ask how but I can assure you it worked)
Sue Beck from Notts DA won the individual costume prize
South Lincolnshire won the small group mardigra prize
A big thank you to Trent Valley DA for hosting the meet
A massive thank you to TVDA sub committee and all their team helpers for the hard work and dedication they put in to make this a weekend to remember
A BIG thank you goes to Leicestershire DA for hosting the regions AGM
Also a big thank you goes to the Club Chairman Keith Jackson and his wife Janet for attending the social’s and to Keith for his excellent advice during the official meetings
The weekend started with a get ~ together and sing along on Friday evening and a lot of hidden talent was found on the kareoke stage (Not the Club Chairman may I add)
The bussiness side of the weekend started on Saturday morning with a Region meeting at 10.30 then onto the AGM with a 14.30 start.
After the formal reports the meeting went into open session where a variety of questions were asked ranging from why is there a very low number of members voting for candidates at the Regions elections to why do DA’s and Sections have to pay VAT
Just a note:-
On the matter of VAT as we are all part of the CCClub each unit is responsible for paying their contribution to HQ who then forward the total Club VAT onto the relavent goverment department
As for the concerning matter of a very low voting number it was decided that it would be put on the agenda for the next council meeting where a way forward can be looked at.
Then straight into the third meeting to appoint Regional Councillors into their posts for the forthcoming year
Please see the committee page for the complete council appointments
