The Regional Meet was held the weekend of 16th -18th June with a good turn out of campers and extraordinary weather. It was good to see so many people sitting out and enjoying the lovely sunshine.
This year the Meet held Street Scenes on the Saturday afternoon instead of the traditional MardiGras. The Regional Committee took part with their theme being Carry on Cleo.
The volley ball competition was held with it very hot for the players but each team persevered. The final on Sunday morning was between North Warks A team and North Warks B team. A team from North Warwick will go forward to the National volley ball finals to be held on 8th July.
Saturday morning saw the Cook Off for the Cadac Campsite Cook of the Year. There were 5 entries all cooking various menus with lots of banter along the way. The judges watched as each contestant sweated with the pressure and the scorching sun. The final dishes were presented to the judges, where each was sampled and marked. Finally the winner was announced, Pam Sewel with her traditional bbq of skewers with fresh veg, potaotoe slices and tomatoes on the vine. Pam was delighted to receive her prize of a Cadac bbq and will now go forward to the finals to be held at NFOL 2017.
The Sunday morning church service was held outside with the sun beating down and views across the fields. A perfect place to be reminded of how lucky we are to be campers and have such surroundings. The service was conducted by Molfrey with musical accompaniment by keyboard.
