Youth Numbers

Headquarters are, once again, to sending out questionnaires to youth that have not paid their subscriptions to try and find out why the youth are not rejoining as our numbers are sadly going down.

Winter Youth Rally

I attended a weekend meet with West Midlands DA after our Regional Secretary had sent a letter to them asking if they would host the Winter Youth Rally even though they do not have a Youth Leader. They have indicated they are willing to host the rally on behalf of Central Counties Region Youth. We are at the moment trying to find a suitable venue

Central Counties Regional Rally

The youth area was well attended to the point we had to extend the area.
Again our thanks must go to Northamptonshire DA for the loan of their Disco Equipment it went down well with the youth they could play all their own music.

Unfortunately I had to attend a National Council meeting on Saturday and missed most of what went on but the reports back from the youth they appeared to enjoy themselves.

Wednesday 22nd March 2006

In December I attended the National Youth Committee meeting on behalf of Central Counties at the Bonnington Hotel London.

Many Subjects were covered, the Committee discussed the slight increase in Youth Recruited but noted that overall there had been a decline in Youth numbers the Committee reaffirmed its belief that the problem lies in the lack of Youth Leaders in DA’s and Sections to organize activities and that it was taking steps to address this.

Winter Youth Rally North Kilworth 2006

The rally this year was not as well attended as previous years even though smaller all the Youth enjoyed themselves we had our indoor sports on Saturday morning which in reality won by a mixed group of youth from different DAs not necessary form our Region.

On Saturday afternoon we went Tenpin Bowling in Rugby we had the Snow dome booked but because the youth were so late in telling us they were going to attend the rally the Snow dome let our booking go.

On Sunday Morning we held the Winter Quiz this was won by Leicestershire DA.
